Youthocracy: My Exploit Of Imo, By Asoro Abubakri Olatunji

My exploit of Imo State confirmed that most critical positions in the State are occupied by people not more than 40 and 45 years. A similar state in this trend is Kogi State. While Kogi has the youngest Governor in its history already, IMO is determined to also elect a more younger person in the person of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.
Uche Nwosu is fondly called Grand commander of youth empowerment. He is the current Chief of Staff of the state. His youth empowerment programs has earned him many awards and recognitions in and out of the country.

Uche Nwosu

The state currently has 25 youths who are councillors with forms bought and fully sponsored by Uche Nwosu. The Vice chairman of Mbatoli LG, at least that I know and many others to mention are youths. Even the office of the current Vice Chairman of the APC in the state is occupied by a youth.

You will not but agree with me that IMO State is a model state for youthocracy.

Youthocracy, you will recollect is the government of the youth by the youths for the youths.

Suddenly, robbery, kidnapping and other criminal activities that is always associated to IMO State has ceased and one will wonder what was the miracle behind it. But for those who understand that an idle mind is the devils workshop. What the rescue mission has done was to keep the youths busy with critical appointment in his government and engage them in decision making which has greatly transformed the state. The free education policy of the rescue mission means freedom to all. Education is freedom of the mind, thus, making it free is a freedom on its own. Education has returned to the common men, who needs it to get uplifted out of poverty.

The youths have cried that they deserve better in politics and that was seen in the #NotToYoungToRun campaign. Beyond passage of the bill, it is time to work the talk and only a government who can guarantee this deserves the vote of the masses, the youths especially.

Gone are the days of thuggery, it is high time the youth are recognised and given critical roles to play in politics and decision making. This can only be achieved through youthocracy and any government that guarantee this is a partner in progress.
