Total Blackout In Nigeria As Power Grid Collapses

The nation experienced total darkness between on Friday and Saturday as the National power grid recorded a total collapse, delivering zero megawatt of electricity.

The system collapse led to the shutdown of all power plants across the country, sources say.

The national grid first collapsed on Friday and then on Saturday morning.

“It’s a general thing; it is a system collapse. It happened yesterday and this morning. All the power plants were shut down.”An industry source, who is a top executive of one of the nation’s electricity distribution companies, told Punch on condition of anonymity.

BreezeReporters observed that many parts of Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, experienced total blackout for more than 24 hours between Friday and Saturday.
