The scholarship is aimed at assisting students with their Master’s Degree research project. The objective of the award is to offer a stipend to a Masters’s student who is writing a thesis on variation and change in Australian English that will contribute to the Sydney Speaks project.
Sydney Speaks Master’s Thesis Award is funded by the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics in the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences and its opened for Domestic Students, International Students Australian or any International nationality holder student. The scholarship allows Masters level programm(s) in the field of Linguistics taught at Australian National University.
The Sydney Speaks Master’s Scholarship Award will be available each year to a prospective student who is:
- a domestic or international student
- enrolled/enrolling in the Masters of General and Applied Linguistics (Advanced) program in the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics
- enrolled or approved to enrol in a relevant Linguistics thesis course in the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics, namely THES8102
- interested in researching variation and change in Australian English that will contribute to the Sydney Speaks project
The Sydney Speaks Master’s Scholarship offers a one off payment of $4,000 paid at the beginning of the semester/session in which you commence your supervised thesis course.
