Nigeria on Friday recorded 397 new cases of coronavirus, with commercial city of Lagos recording 254 cases, representing the highest number of confirmed cases in a single day.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, confirmed this in a post on its official Twitter page.
This brings the total of cases in Nigeria to 9,302 with 261 deaths recorded.
The tweet reads: “387 new cases of COVID-19;
”Lagos-254, FCT-29, Jigawa-24, Edo-22, Oyo-15, Rivers-14, Kaduna-11, Borno-6, Kano-3, Plateau-2, Yobe-2, Gombe-2, Bauchi-2, Ondo-1.
“9302 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria; Discharged: 2697. Deaths: 261.”
Lagos is currently partially open for economic activities as movement of people are restricted from 8pm to 6am daily.
Churches, Schools and beaches remain close in the city as part of effort to contain the deadly virus that has claimed move than 360,000 people worldwide.
