Impeachment: Why National Assembly Must Withdraw Threat To Buhari – BYO

Members of the Buhari Youth Organisation, Lagos state chapter have urged members of the National Assembly to withdraw the 10-point joint resolutions issued to President Buhari to allow proper investigation of the Offa robbery where Senate President Bukola Saraki has been indicted.
The pro-Buhari group in a statement signed by Abdulwaheed Odunuga, State Coordinator  and Adekunle Aderibigbe; General Secretary, also called on all Nigerians to join the Offa residence calls to ensure the Nigeria Police and other law enforcement agencies are not politically influenced by the National Assembly.
The statement reads in part, “As a nation, we have had several criminal and murderous attacks from Boko Haram in the north-east, Militants in the south, Cultists and Kidnappers all over the country, Killer herdsmen in the middle-belt and recently, the dreaded armed robbery attack that left the native Offa town in mournfulness and the entire nation in shell-shock on April 5 killing over 30 people. These attracted condolences from all the concerned with condemnation of the national security as being porous, most especially by the National Assembly.
“In what looks like a Hollywood movie, the security camera clip of the attack went viral in an action-packed scene. The Inspector General of Police was attention with immediate alacrity to pounce on the men of the underworld and ensuring they are all brought to book. Most Nigerians had lost hope in the National security but here we are today in less than 2 months, our Supercop caught the devil-inclined minds alive with a commendable intelligence.
“Today, the same leadership that was on top of his game combing various areas to fish out the criminals is now the placed at the slaughter slab at the Red chambers because the criminals indicted the Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Kwara state Governor, Abdul Fatah Ahmed, who empowered the bandits with destructive weapons and other resources for political purposes. The selected executives of National Assembly under the leadership of Senator Saraki has issued a 10-point ultimatum threatening the President to call the Police Chief to order to frustrate the Saraki-involvement investigations while the Offa residents and natives are still counting their losses in shock.
“It will only promote impunity if this case is not treated with fastidiousness. Most of the killings and criminality acts in the country were embryo products of political masterminding where idle, lazy youths are empowered with resources for massive destruction of processes and procedures in order to pave way for politicians. For this act to stop, Nigerians must stand by our security operatives stop the procurement, facilitating, harbouring and sharing of illegal arms and ammunition that will end up being used to kill Nigerians.
“We urge the National Assembly to rescind the joint resolutions that was issued as threats to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, after achieving the remarkable efforts of arresting the criminals who were all captured in the CCTV clips in a manner sends signal to others that they will never get away with crimes. The legislative arm needs to let the law dictate the affairs with no form of infringements.
