Youth-led #EndSars protest will continue unhindered, according to Protesters, despite government announcement of a 24 -hour curfew.
Governor Sanwo-olu of Lagos and his Edo State counterpart, Godwin Obaseki had announced a dusk to dawn curfew citing violence and lawlessness.
In Benin, the capital of Edo, there have been two jailbreaks by hoodlums, while in Lagos a police station in Orile area of the state has been set ablazed.
”I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4pm today, 20th October,2020. Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets, Sanwo-olu said in a tweet on Tuesday.
But protesters in their thousands in Alausa, Lekki, Lagos -Ibadan expressway and other areas of the state have vowed to continue their peaceful demonstration.
They accused the government of sponsoring thugs to attack peaceful protesters and masterminding jailbreaks, burning of police stations to justify curfew in a bid to quell the widespread protest against police brutality and bad governance.
